Ships
Ships
When the ships sailed,
I wasn’t sure whether to get on.
What would I see in the vast ocean?
Would I return?
The sun set with brilliant colors.
The sand glistened as sea gulls called.
I wanted to fly like them, instead.
Soar with the wind above the tides.
I could feel my heart moving too.
Then it came to me, thoughts of you.
My friend, my savior, those years.
I was not alone. I wasn’t lost.
Maybe, the ocean is just too big.
I would rather sit on the rocks
And think of you, the security.
So I stayed here on the shoreline.
Dreaming of you, sitting by my side.
Knowing we could have conquered the waves.
Together in a timeless fashion of strength.
I know you are waiting.
I am living to bring to you…
Every sunset I see, every word left unspoken.
