Ship Shadow Within the shadow of a broken heart Passages of the sorrowful tuned harp Pacify the lonesome wretched struggle Of the weary, drained despots who juggle. The distant storm draws nigh, the albatross Leads, lightning shines the wayward, their due course. Avarice game of chance, search for victims. Vixens, card players, guns--setup symptoms. The collision of either class, fatal At best, the ne'er-do-well at the table, Affluent, cheaters, as the upper-class, Destitute, distressed, as the under-class, Ship destined for calamity, depart, Within the shadow of a broken heart. 2019 August 17 *2nd Place* One In Four ~~Joseph May
