Shining Passion
Ice gripped the branches, glimmering in the sun
Crackling with what the wind has spun
Hanging over the frozen snow covered land
White spreads for miles from where I stand
Winter’s cold takes hold with frozen breath in the air
As the mind stops to think of thoughts left to spare
Wandering through time, wondering just the same
Old thoughts return, that I cannot tame
Still they are there, shining passion I felt
Until the sun returns and the ice does melt
