She's Gone
She’s gone! Did no-one see her slip away?
Nor take her tiny hand and bid her stay?
No soul, her coy, cerulean eyes behold
None catch a glimpse of silky locks of gold?
Did no-one miss her sweet contagious smile
Or hear her sing and turn to pause a while?
How could a child so gentle and pristine
Be snatched away and never more be seen?
Enough of sweet nostalgia’s luring sway;
My little girl was never meant to stay.
The child has disappeared, but in God’s grace,
A woman of great worth now takes her place.
