She Loves Me Not

She likes me, She loves me, O, pray for me she loves me! O, heavens I must have it— Her love is all I need! But All the while, My heart is beating, One hundred times a second. All the while, The sun is falling, One thousand times as fast. All the while, My chest is aching Of all my love I hold so dearly! Surrounded by the hazy mountains Molested by the sky, We find ourselves alone Together Lying side by side. I catch her eye. We share a laugh, The quiet envelops us again, until She throws her body onto mine and Smothers me in kisses, Her hands run up and down my skin and Grab me close to her, She presses herself on me and Leans in to whisper in my ear and— No. She doesn’t. She would never. She turns away and Says goodnight, Resting her beautiful face on those elegant hands. I sit up, feeling My slouching silhouette against the dimming pink sky Fade away. And All the while, I still love her!
