She Crossed the Road

I fell in love that one day when "she" crossed the road. she had such a beautiful smile. she had some books so I asked to take her load. she said yes and we talked for a while. we dated on and off for a few years. then she said we need to take a break. on that day I fought back tears. every night I lie in bed awake. I thought about her every day. one morning we met, the break was finally over. she finally was my fiancé. the day came when we were at the altar, shoulder to shoulder. my mind went back to the day she crossed the street. from that day forth my life was complete. {James Tjernagel}
