Sharing One's Wish

Another night is fast approaching
Like a runaway train without a guide.
I sit at a window in my attic
Watching the deepest part of the milky way.
A star shoots down and I have a whim,
A wish that will be secret.
Yet it bothers me a lot
That I should not share it with you.
Is it a superstition not to share?
Is it the norm to keep the wish
Bottled up in the depth of one’s soul?
Yet what care I for norm or habit?
I would rather share it with you.
For if it were up to me
I'd share everything with you,
All of my love and happiness,
All of my cares and despairs.
All of my life and existence
All that I have and don't have.
Yet in the end, I ask you:
Are you prepared to share?
