(Crystalline- 2 lines) (Kimo- 3 lines) (Quatrain - 4 lines) (Tanka- 5 lines)
It was the fun sound I was after
eavesdropping on her sweet laughter.
That sound brought an instant smile to my heart,
for it meant that my sweet girl
could soon be in my arms.
I picture her like she was years ago,
and soon, my impatient heart starts to race.
It's been five long years since I saw her last;
tears suddenly start streaming down my face.
She had just turned three,
my letters, where never read.
Prison stole those years,
now she's forgotten my face
and that shame is killing me.
