Set the Truth Free

If it was true that nothing else or the only real thing in this life is actually free But our mind's and thoughts and speech Then why or how can telling the truth can come at such great personal cost for saying And how are children supposed then to believe that lying is bad and the devil's work but the truth is good and will set you free and get you into heaven

I don’t think this is a one size fits all poem Christopher, sometimes lying is the only way to comfort someone at a time when their vulnerable, it can stop an individual going into shock or worse I think it’s more about tact, than deceit in certain situations but not all, each situation warrants it’s own response cheers David

The right answers love that quote, truth and lies are blurred sometimes, You look crap in that dress, better to say, that dress doesn’t do you justice, might save you a night on the couch

Yes indeed as you pointed out David its more a altruism poem than reality. The truth not can only set you free but can also get you banged up. And lead to more pain and questions than the right answers
