Sermon To the Child That I Was
Being faint hearted is not a crime
Nor is it a sign of weakness
Nor is it a curse meant to carried like a burden
Rather, being faint hearted simply means
That emotions inhabit you
And with them are you to live
Yes, being faint hearted, my child
Implies having the heart of a mother
The sensibility of a maiden and
The aptitude to appreciate everything about life
From the stones it throws at you
To the flowers it blows across your way!
Yes, my child, someday, you shall grow
And shall see, that, with your fears have you adjusted
Yet, even then, life is ruled by dark forces
It shall be up to you to learn to coax them
Into revealing the goodness that is encaged in them,
So that, they shall only care to hold your hand
And help you walk your miles, while tending to your faint heart,
And using your powerful emotions as healing balms!
