Genesis: 1:20
The poet cleaned the kitchen window over the sink
At first glance
No birds were seen there to feed or drink water
Soon through cleaned window
Birds appeared
In sadness, she thought
How she wished
That yesterday it had been spick and span clean
Joy would have been fulfilled when
All those birds
Bathed in the birdbaths
There was one when it flew away looked blue but up close
Looked dark, charcoal gray
How I wished the window had been lovingly cleaned then
So that I could see clearly
Then they were in a lightning
Bolt gone out of sight
A few precious minutes to see, feel God's love, His presence and enjoy
Their surprise entrance, then their movements bespoke
You know that God created them all by saying, "Let birds fill the skies".
Original ending jotted down of this one.
About five
Or maybe seven different species came
Took turns bathing, splashing and
Then they were
Gone away
A few precious minutes seeing God's love
Feeling His Presence
Enjoying a surprise, their movements
Knowing God had created them all by saying let there be birds in the
Firmament
