See Thru
That old Devil once had dark pigment,
his kingdom once had a black face
Now that crafty Devil got white skin,
Caesar done took Pharaoh’s place
Nobody saw the changing of the colors coming,
nobody but the Lord did
Nobody saw the brown changing into blue,
a dark veil covering human sight
Only God’s X-ray eyes was able to see thru,
His Light always shines in the night ...
allowing us to see thru the gross darkness
Come see the devil in the blue silk dress
wearing black leather high heel shoes
The souls at the bottom are worn out
and singing the delta blues
Come see the minstrel’s painted black face,
performing at the grand Caesar’s Palace place
You gotta laugh to keep from crying,
you gotta bury the truth to live with the lying
Come take a voyage on the blue seas,
let’s find what virgin white sands
can be claimed as new lands of discovery
Do you now see thru the veil of time,
or has darkness overshadowed your mind
That old Devil once had ebony pigment,
his kingdom once had a pyramid cruel black face
Now that crafty Devil got alabaster skin,
Caesar done took Pharaoh’s ivory dwelling place
Oppression reeks of the same foul taste
Nobody saw the changing of the colors coming,
nobody but the Lord did
God saw right thru it all,
from His Holy eyes nothing is ever hid
