Searching For God
When in the darkness of soul
Hope suffocates
And the mind is plumbing for
A safe escape
A hand reaches out
To help you out
From your depths of misery.
The hand may have a physical form
Or may be a voice on the phone
It may be a beggar on the road
Or some stranger on the train.
A selfless act is all it takes
To change your course of life
A blessing, a wish or a kiss,
To get you out of your strife!
Do not go by their worldly forms
For goodness has no shape,
Believe me it is in transient form
And it is the Holy Spirit!
