My heart cr ump led like the screwed up scraps of paper now languishing in the trash bin okay, so I write humourous poems ... I rarely write 'free verse' or 'perfect' iambic pentameter yet you lambasted me Your cruel words tore me apart my writing style will NEVER be good enough to please YOU So screw you... I was sitting on a bus with my dad 1 day and a guy about 60+ was jogging struggling admittedly and kids on the bus were laughing at him and my dad said they may be laughing at him but he is actually out there doing what they couldn't possibly imagine doing . Whose the idiot

SCREW THEM Never clicked on the replied section before and seen your replies. Bullied I am incensed pissed off actually what a fing liberty.Small minded Arseholes probably who get a kick out of critiquing you because you can do what they can't. Some people are just sad unfortunately

I almost left the site after a month as my simple style was so criticised but now way will I let anyone here get to me again. Writing has become my lifeline since i wrote my first poem when my hubby underwent cancer surgery in 2013: - from being a poetry hater at school now I can't get enough and have appeared on stage in front of 600 people and done talks on creative writing at the school i worked at:-) hugs jan xx

This is powerful writing Jan, so nice to see you get POTD! This sums up nicely how many of us felt as we began writing, and how others for whatever reason were critical. Lennon and McCartney had simple rhymes and I think it worked out ok for them! I love your serious writes!

Did you ever write before online poetry sites? That's why we write. Having a place for others to possibly read it is a plus. As for acerbic gum flappers, Well Said. :)

No Robert I never wrote a poem until my hubby had cancer surgery in 2013 and a friend persuaded me to join here - I'd no experience of blogs or social media and it is a real eye opener:-) BUT I was gifted a lifetime membership and I am here for good:-) If folks don't like my simple style well that's their problem not mine:-) thanks for dropping by to comment:-) hugs Jan xx

You won't see me on the list of 100 top poets, they really don't like my crap, even members who write but never ever get a comment rank on their list, but me I'm "special"----Yes Jan, I'm with you "Screw Them" with one difference "I'm Never Quitting. Haha!

I don't give a toss about lists or if anyone likes my poop poems Jerry lol :-) This is about my writing when I first started on soup and was so criticised for my style I almost gave up - well for the mockers and blockers .. take note I am here to stay I am never quitting the site lol:-) hugs Jan xx

Oh, Jan! I was shocked to read those final lines, how could someone be so cruel with their words! but yes, I know words can kill:(:( Keep writing, let me be honest, I like your serious ones better than humorous ones, though you do excel in them too:) congratulations on your POTD:)

Wow thanks for the feedback Jo ....I'd better start writing some more serious poems !!!!!(but humour especially limericks will always be my personal favourite as I know now my uncle and aunt both wrote humourous poems especially limericks and my maternal grandma and mum wrote (I never knew about my mum writing ever but she did it in her younger days)so its in my DNA ) :-) hugs Jan xx

It makes me smile Eileen - I write a poem which is very different to my usual style and get POTD lol :-) This is based on history from when I first joined the site and now I really don't give a toss ... if folks don't like my humour they simply don't have to read - there is a place for us all but rest assured Eileen I am here for good and intend to keep writing until I can no longer hold a pen:-) I was on stage again tonight with a group of like minded humourists and it was great fun seeing people laugh!:-) hugs jan xx

Thanks Carol:-) each to their own with poetry styles, it is all a matter of opinion no one is better than another. I will continue to write simple poop poems although i can surprise folks with the occasional more serious poem:-) hugs jan xx

I LOVE the form and am going to produce a book of funny poems that's why I write so many. I really don't give a toss now what folks say about my poetry BUT I am here to stay:-) hugs jan xx

Thanks so much Chris:-) I was badly bullied when I first joined here for my 'simple style' and I actually gave up writing for a week as I thought my poems were worthless... wonderful people here supported me and I have grown and learned so so much - from a total novice writer I have now written over 1400 since I joined and have appeared on stage several times ... and tonight I will be appearing again at a poetry night with a bunch of like minded humourous poets ... last time we performed it was at our Gaiety Theater in front of over 600 people - tonight it is a much smaller affair:-) hugs Jan xx

It's a sad state when others feel the need to cut down others so they can feel more powerful'' when true power is helping and encouraging so others can achieve their goals, as friends that's what we do . Jan there is nothing wrong with your poetry, I have always enjoyed your poems. I do not want you to stop writing your poems are well written , and I enjoy all the poetry that you write. So continue to write your poetry. I rated this poem a 7 but it should be more.

There is no place in art for such devilry ---- to judge another's work so harshly, I always liked your poetry; whoever they are SCREW THEM ---- if they think they're so hot I'll step in the ring with them with a poetry contest to see what they got.... I got badly bullied when I joined here by someone who didn't like the fact my 'simple poems' were more popular than their masterpieces... even now i still struggle to write sonnets as it knocked my confidence so badly but I will be here until i can no longer hold my pen:-) hugs jan xx

Ever heard of Shel Silverstein? The man wrote the most simplistic stuff ever, probably would never have won poem of the day honors here-went on to great acclaim, songs, poems books, etc. Your style is you, don't be anything you don't want to be.
