Screen of Awareness

I've changed The years passed But I still look out as if hidden in this form My awareness is a guardian For someone I care for but also hate Who can stand tall but doesn't always I have immersive connection with emotion Yet then snap away detached I resist activities that take me into flow Questioning my right to be distracted From my awareness The inner and outer self Disconnected Disharmonious Policing everything Occasionally I dance away Become the light Watch myself with pride from afar Until it's time to berate for showing off My screen of awareness Too strict Does not permit taking time out from me This feels a fixed state But it's all talk I can do what I want So I dance more, speak freely, make friends All the while hearing "What will people think?"
