On the beside table,
I keep a candle.
It is there,
for the nights,
the lights go out.
It is there,
to remind me,
that I am not alone,
in the dark.
The funny thing about the candle?
The message is clear,
when it is lit,
and even when it is not.
That… somehow comforts me.
The reality of the lesson.
I am “never” alone.
Amen.
