Santa Is Not Jesus's Name

Some say ‘tis the season to be jolly Going about decorating with holly Putting up Santas on every corner TV shows with a popular performer How many will see a live nativity? Celebrate what’s supposed to be With adoration for the Christ-child Born in a manger, meek and mild, Or, think about why Jesus came Some believe Santa is Jesus’s name! Jesus came us sinners to redeem This is the true Christmas theme, When we forget to tell the story We rob our Savior of his glory Profaning the day of his nativity For lots of presents under a tree Remember, Jesus got only three! I have never seen Jesus on a surfboard, as Santa is depicted in Blow up balloon form here in Oz. I have hardly heard a Christmas carol in the Malls, and I don't recognise them when they are. Take care, Milt. Grumpy Old Duck

Sadly the real reason for celebrating Christmas seems to diminish more every year. It's unfortunate that people choose to ignore the warnings. If they choose to have their reward now then they can't expect to have it in the next life. Tom

Milton, they got rid of the nativity scenes and now they're going after any "christmas" decorations because they are "offensive" to one or two activists. The also may dress up like turkeys and raid the Vegan grocery store...

Hmmm...where, John? I've seen several nativity scenes here in Ashland. I don't know about the department stores because I don't shop in them. Oh well, it behooves us to do what we can to insure that Christmas is celebrated for the right reason. Thanks for your comment, John.

Well said, Milt. I don’t actually believe in all that stuff, but I do think that it’s what Christmas is meant to be about and should be recognised as such. Of course, Jesus was unfortunate to be born on Christmas Day because that meant only one lot of presents.

Yep. And I have a niece who only gets her children three presents each for Christmas. She trained them early!!!
