Safe

A quiet car ride With me in your arms, Up against your chest. Your hand rests On my head. My head is found In the crook of your neck. Every road bump And wild swerve, Your grip tightens. You make me feel Safe and relaxed. Not just in The height of your protectiveness. It is rare for me To find company Where I feel no pressure To speak or fill silence. You welcome my silence, Accepting of it. I feel at ease When I’m with you.
