Rose
Petals
Summer’s gems
Romantic blooms
On fortified stems
A thorny treasure chest
Stood in their resplendent best
Summer’s first bloom; a lovers gift
Alas, grasshoppers leap when they're sniffed
So flick them away before she has seen
Pray nothing lands on her - six legs and green
Then be as romantic as you wish
With plans so very noble… ish
For no girl can shun a rose
Its scent so very sweet
Sweeps them off their feet
But then she gasps
“HAY FEVER!”
Her voice
Rasps
