Room 210
The second level,
the cheapest room,
staying longer than
one night.
Having nowhere else to go,
and nowhere else to be,
leaves little variance you see.
Not enough to buy,
more than food on the table,
Not enough to buy
new shoes for blistered feet.
Not enough to buy,
a jacket or a rag, to wear,
that passers by will not stare.
No transportation to get any place.
No recognition of wanted,
and-or needed space.
A step away from homeless,
A step away from there,
holding on to empty air...
as to do otherwise,
was not to care.
