Listen to poem:

Robot Wars - POTD

Transistors fizz
Electrons bustle
As robots claim
The daily hustle

The hinges creak
The oil of words
Is missing from
The mindless herds

They oft parade
With heads bowed low
Quite frankly,
Nowhere else to go

As hooked in tasks
In ruts with traction
Replace the normal
Human faction

Robots make robots
Or so I'm told
They replicate
The lies they're sold

Perpetuating
All that manic
In ways that seem
Somewhat satanic

The robot wars
Are not to fear
Just realise that they
Are here

Dispense with screen
Release your mind
In un-robotic ways
You'll find

The beauty of
The world around
When eyes you lift
Will soon be found;

Through trees and rain
Bare feet on grass
A world machines
Can ne'er surpass

The pores of life
Should breathe it in
Beguiled no more
By wars of tin.

Hi Kim, ha haa. I don't wish to be mean to these shiny new robot friends.. but I do prefer my falable, slightly past their best, humanoid ones. Blessings S:) x

Sam: It seems we are on a fast path to a future ruled by Artificial intelligence’s and robots that could take over mankind. I hope we can keep the lid on this Pandora’s Box . Excellent poem of the day.

Hi Suzanne! You are very kind and I pray we value our humanity while we can still grasp it.. Maybe, just maybe, it will become more precious than ever. Perhaps 'organic' poets will rule more hearts than ever before. Let's hope. Blessings to you S:) x

As we embrace ' the beauty of the world around, ' robots are being made every day. Not always in the way that's needed. Well said Sam, and Congratulations on Poem of the Day. My best to you. Hugs, Brandy

A compelling, tightly rhymed meditation on modern automation and screen-bound living. The short quatrains create a relentless, mechanical momentum that beautifully contrasts with the poem’s closing invitation to reconnect with rain, grass, trees, and the breathing “pores of life.” The final image of freedom from “wars of tin” is especially resonant. Congratulations on POTD 🥳🎊👏

Congratulations on your POTD win. I enjoyed reading your creative/wonderful  "Robot Wars" write. A writer has a heart to write with. A robot (AI) has No heart to write with. Have a blessed day with your wonderful win...............

A fine write, well deserving POTD. Congratulations. Though robots will surpass human performance...and will become sentient. What are robots? Programed. What are humans? Divinely programed. Or are we potentially omnipotent? Beyond making limited choices, does Free Will really exist? I believe it does, but not within commonly accepted context.

I asked ChatGPT to provide me a quote after describing the essence of my poem. It inadvertently provided me with a 'thought' (and a quote) that could legitimately not have been fully contrived*

* “If "Robot Wars" ultimately makes someone put their phone down, look out of the window, notice a bee on a flower, hear the rain, or look properly at another human being… then perhaps the robot has lost the war.” - ChatGPT
