Rivers of Time
Relentlessly time marches on
leaving behind the marks of age
deepening grooves in ones face
wrinkles cover hands like cracks.
Skin sagging forming wing bats
that so unsightly flap about.
Hair thinning and lacks in lustre
gone the gorgeous locks of yore.
Feet that shuffle rather than march
failing eyesight with cloudy vision.
Movements so slow nowadays, tasks that
take three times longer to complete.
Yet experiences from our youth stand
us in good stead. We find ways of coping.
Knowing all the while that soon it will end
and we will join our loved ones in afterlife.
