YES! MUCH more haiku-like, MUCH better... you have the idea now, you could make the lines join grammatically by doing this [the morning suns rays][touch the small warm hand in mine] the VERB touch unites the two lines grammatically & in case the judge wants 5/7/5 you have it [it is not that you can't write haiku 5/7/5 but that modern contemporary haiku are most often not done this way - the content rules can still be maintained in 5/7/5

that is probably the only line i will keep. i now understand how to extract some depth out of haiku. unfortunately there is some grammar stuff involved. grammar is to me what spiders are to a lot of people. love you for being so kind.

line three is excellent - now stay sensory & objective in lines 1 & 2 which must be gramatically & conceptually connected ;) Light & Love

that makes a lot of sense Debbie. "sensory and objective" got you. conceptually connected light and love i understood to be a choice. Do not the rules say hope light love all three or choose one? Now here comes the really hard part "grammatically connected" since i don't think you are referring to my mothers mother you probably mean one of those english rules thing. i'll try but i am not going to make any promises. thank you so much for your help i really appreciate it. love maurice
