Rise And Fall

inspired by The Platters song, ‘Ebb Tide’
Rise And Fall
Salty tears ebbing away on moon’s tide as whispered love echoes on ocean waves across caramel sands where hearts reside. Coves of sheltered inlets harbour veiled caves that glistens with laced, seaborne aqua foam as whispered love echoes on ocean waves. I caress the shoreline where oft I roam under wistful, silver of shallow sky that glistens with laced, seaborne aqua foam. Footprints merge upon sands of time as my lover waits with arms of open embrace under wistful, silver of shallow sky. Bodies cling, like sea to shore, face to face with the rise and fall on ocean’s tipped crest, lover waits with arms of open embrace and I wander no more at peace to rest — salty tears ebbing away on moon’s tide with the rise and fall on ocean’s tipped crest across caramel sands where hearts reside.

Dear Christina. Hello. Oh my goodness. This is poetry in the truest form and sense with language expression and the ever popular emotion because the emotive factor is present. At least with me it is. You are a most beautiful and elegant writer and this entry alone is evident of that. Truly. It was an honor turning to your page. May this day find you well. Have a wonderful day and weekend too. Peace Blessings and Light always. (smile) PS - May the poetic pen be with you always...

Dearest Christina, soulful poetess, your elegant expression captures the exquisite romantic passion of lovers falling into embrace, falling in love. "Rise and Fall" is a perfect title and captures the inspiration of the Platters "Ebb Tide" perfectly, but your amazing poetic gift makes this treasured Terzanelle verse all your own. I adore this piece, especially "Bodies cling, like sea to shore, face to face" such sumptuous imagery! Your brilliant artistry is revealed once again, my sweet friend. Congratulations for your win in Brian's contest. Ever your admirer! Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Hey Christina! I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say how much I loved your poem. The description of the ocean's ebb and flow echoing whispered love is so beautifully evocative, especially with the inspiration from The Platters' song. Your words truly transport me to the caramel sands and sheltered inlets you describe. I loved the Platters and this song. - Blessings, Daniel

Christina how beautiful is your Terzanelle! I was blown away by the imagery you have created. Coves of sheltered inlets harbour veiled caves that glistens with laced, seaborne aqua foam as whispered love echoes on ocean waves. Wow, it puts me in a holiday mood now, I've only ever seen what looked like seaborne aqua foam, and that was in Hawaii. Love the Platters I'll have to listen to the song now. Lots of love, Maria

Ah what a way to describe sands, caramel, thats unique dear chrissie. I can see what you mean by you do rhymes alot, you really did an impeccable job on this terzanelle, i love the way youv written this and the way you’ve painted imagery and has also a very romantic ambience that truly is captivating and evocative. “seaborne aqua foam as whispered love echoes on ocean waves.” The oceanic wordplay resonates with me and is soulfully divine. “ lover waits with arms of open embrace“ this refrain

Hello dear Andrea. Yes, the poem was inspired by the beautiful song ( that I keep playing on repeat!) but the form was inspired by …. You! I was so hoping you would stop by so I can thank you hugely so - thank you! Reading your beautiful poetry is inspiring me to attempt different forms and after reading your gorgeous’ September ‘ one I had to try. Boy, did I have to work on it though because although I love the use of refrains, I was struggling to fit them in for a constant flow and not a disjointed mess …. but I eventually got there! Thank you so much for your encouraging support and inspiring me to challenge myself a bit more. Knowing that you loved it means a lot and it was worth all the effort. Hugs of gratitude to you xx

Christina, I played the song as I read along! I love poetry which use the elements, the moon, the ocean, sky. "Red Sails In The Sunset" also nice. Your stanzas flow beautifully, just like their songs, made for a great appendage. Soft and Romantic! You're so good with ABA Rhyme, I find it difficult. I enjoyed. Hugs, Christina! I came back to fave, it's still on my mind!

I’m overwhelmed with your kindness dear friend and response as I regard your brilliance highly. I love that song and thanks to it, the poem was born! I’m not so familiar with the ‘red sails’ one so I’m going to listen to it. I’m delighted beyond words that you came back to fave it. Thank you with heartfelt gratitude. It means a lot. Hugs to you xx
