Rip Barrier
No RIP
For The Great Barrier Reef
No rest and certainly no peace
We have managed to kill
The oldest life on our planet!
Did I say our planet?
She does not belong to us
But we to her.
She provides for us not we for her.
And she is Her
For like woman
She has been dominated by Man
She is the giver of life
Pillaged and controlled
Her vast rich resources
Claimed bought and sold
Her hand feeds Man
Who chews off limb after limb
In the trap of himself
Rabid beast
Insatiable
Without a leg to
Stand
Up for Her.
So no RIP
For The Great Barrier Reef
No rest and certainly no peace
Since we long ago abandoned
The Godess and
Her symbiotic ways
Forged forth with ideals of control
And all the rest power drunk Man stole
Building our barrier to peace.
So no RIP for The Great Barrier Reef
No rest and certainly no peace
For Her
Until perhaps
The day we go extinct.
