Ring On My Line - The Golden Era of Doo Wop, Retro Revival

Before diving into the time machine for a nostalgic trip on my music video ‘Ring On My Line’ above, I invite you to read my preamble Sonnet below.
Ring On My Line -The Golden Era of Doo Wop, Retro Revival
If you've ever waited for a call that never came, ‘Ring On My Line’ will hit close to home. Take a trip back in time—no matter your age—into the golden era of Doo Wop and the boppy, haunting rhythms of the ‘50s and ‘60s. This song captures the bittersweet romance of waiting by the phone, heart pounding with hope, wondering if that special someone will call. It’s a love story, where jukebox tunes filled the air, diners were the place to be, and every unanswered ring told a tale of longing. So grab an ice-cream soda, turn up the volume, grab your partner, let nostalgia take over, and dance to the retro Doo Wop beat, you’ll enjoy it.. Note: You can also follow the lyrics by clicking on the CC (closed caption) on the video itself above our on my YouTube Channel
Beneath the silver hush of midnight’s sigh, the quiet stars refuse to blink her name Moon - You vigilant observer from above Your indifference lingers just the same. A drum with a hollow sound, my beating heart each second stretched, each ring less second cold. I strain to hear her verse, but none are found, in the quietude of a glimmer not made whole. Hope strains a fragile thread, pulled tight, will love return, or do I wait in vain? Time elongates the qualms I feel inside Motionless yet its silence sparks my pain. Oh, ringtone, let mercy find my ears, or let me waft in love’s fickle fears.

Hi, Maria. You have written a fantastic poem about the inner anguish and desire felt when waiting for a call from a loved one. It conveys the bittersweet aspect of love, including hope, expectation, and the agony of uncertainty. BTW, I prefer to be called Sotto. Thanks Maria

Hope strains a fragile thread, pulled tight… Motionless yet its silence sparks my pain… Oh, ringtone, let mercy find my ears…lovely! Beautiful video…love the music. Reminds me of the sad song “Tell Laura I love her.” This of course is a bit more upbeat. She’s funny…I like to take things slow…very slow…lol! This makes my day! Hugs!!

Though I don't know anything about Western music, I can relate to the anxiety and tension, while waiting for a call from the beloved. That tense experience is intensely felt here. It is a moment when time stands still. Beautiful music and equally capturing graphics. Well done, dear sweet Maria. "A drum with a hollow sound, my beating heart each second stretched, each ring less second cold." The stress and mental pressure, so powerfully expressed through these lines.

Dear Maria, you took me back quite a few years with your last effort. I'll never forget those romantic songs of old. Elvis, Pat Boone, Connie Francis and Whitney and so many others. Those were the songs I'll always love. Thank you for bringing them back. Your sonnet is also a leaf taken rom old song where we had many songs using the telephone. A great effort. Beautiful graphics too. Well done.

Dear Victor, I'm really happy that you enjoyed this video. I grew up enjoying this music from a very early age. Being in a large family of 8, and five older siblings, plus my Dad being a musician this type of music played a big part in our lives for many years. My taste drifted more to the disco scene, but I appreciate all types of music to tell the truth. All the best dear Victor, and I hope you're looking forward to some warmer weather coming your way?....Hugs

Brought back many joyful memories. "50's and early 60's were a blast. "In The Still of The Night" -- My Prayer" -- love the era! We all had our little garage band. Singing, harmonizing in the echo chamber of the New York Subway terminal. It was great!

Oh yeah, love all those songs. The Platters are still my very favourite Doo Wop group. I love all music including the Classics, disco, pop but NOT heavy metal. Thanks for visiting Joe, so glad you liked this, was a fun one to create....Hugs

What a golden age of music that was Maria and you've brought it back to life. Life was so much easier back then, how things have changed. Hats off to you and Ron, brilliant. Tom

Hi Tom, thanks so much. Yes you're so right, it was indeed the Golden Age. Doo Wop was all about smooth, rich vocal harmonies—groups of singers layering their voices to create lush, emotional soundscapes. It seems to be making a comeback, but I dont think we could ever get that beautiful simplicity back to our lives? Hugs

Maria your videos just keep getting better and better. The graphics and video are exceptional. Those were the days soda shops, Movie theatres, outside. Men were men and women women. Music was great, the Beatles, The Beach boys, Chubby Checker, The Big Bopper, so many to mention. Going back in time watching a Happy Days rerun with Ron Howard brings you back to that era like this fun and charming song. You and Ron and lyrics added to the fun of it all. God Bless you and Ron for doing this

Michael my dear friend, so glad you liked it so much. People look back on the Doo Wop era as a more innocent time—juke joints, sock hops, soda fountains, and dreamy melodies under the stars. It carries a timeless charm that many still associate with the best of American music history. It was a time of romance and dreams. I dont think we could ever capture that 'magic' again. I loved Happy Days. Wonder if Henry Winkler is still around? Thanks so much for the support Michael from Ron and me, and dont forget to check your email. Hugs to you and Judy....Love Maria

Dear Nette the band is entirely digitally created. So is the music. Always a bit of a challenge creating the characters and keeping the consistency to the features, but we seem to be getting better at it. I'm so glad you liked it. Hugs

I commented on YouTube but I'll reiterate here that this could easily have been a fifties hit. The accompanying sonnet highlights the nervous anxiety of waiting for a call that may or may not ever come. Ahhh, to be a teen in love again...

Thats so sweet of you Tommy and I truly appreciate it. Oh yes the nervous anxiety waiting for that phone to ring. Does it ever go out of fashion? Each second stretching like an hour, your heart jumping at every sound, hoping, It’s that mix of longing, hope, and fear that maybe the silence means more than just a missed call, I was trying to put that into my Sonnet lol...Hugs

Ah this is absolutely stunning dear beautiful maria! I love how you can come up with different themes, different concepts, for your videos and music! And that shows how versatile you are as an artistic creator, i have seen videos of that era so i was impressed by how youv pulled it off here just so well! And i know that feeling i think many must have experienced when infatuated, waiting for that special call! And i love how in your sonnet youv used moon and written such a cosmically soulful poem! I especially love “Moon - You vigilant observer from above Your indifference lingers just the same.” Ahh! Soul hitting!!! Fave this is! Pleasure reading , watching your video, impressive work! Sending you light always
