Reuniting Opposites
Sometimes life gets too aggressive;
It slaps one around a bit;
the fall is harder each time.
Too many slaps provoke a soul to rage;
to lash out inappropriately;
the pain, searing down to the bone marrow stings like,
vinegar in an open wound.
A baser instinct;
to attack and defend when, accosted.
Passivity can get you killed but,
so can aggression.
Life dies a vile death when,
accosted by too much rage.
Compromise travels down a thin, rocky road but,
it’s worth it to meet life and death, halfway.
