Rescued
A jealous Goddess envious of me
Banned me to deep end of the sea.
I sought with last breath for life saving air,
When naught but water flowed down there.
A dolphin aware of my great distress
(And I near death, I must confess,)
Daring Goddess’s wrath to rescue me,
With mighty heave tossed me from sea.
I landed safely on a far-flung beach
And right within Goddess’s reach.
With an unladylike or Goddess curse,
She tried my young life to disperse.
Once more the brave dolphin arrived to save
And carry me from ocean grave.
He showed me how to extract air from sea
Which is now second home to me.
