and I am so glad you liked my latest haiku. I wanted to make it better, but I just could not think of a way to express all I wanted to say in those three short lines. I saw a movie yesterday in which the dying man said those words: I am not afraid, and I had my OWN aha moment. That is gonna be my haiku!!!

I so enjoy reading senryu or haiku. I can't place this as being for one of the contests. Is it? This was a good way to express the symbolism of roses and their horrid thorns.

Fantastic write..... From a poet that has lived that, more than once... "A shot to a heart that sees, the broken spirit in thee, A gift sincerely sent back, wish to do better but I lack, the talent in your sweet mysteries!"

My GOODNESS!Honestly,I'm getting voiceless..this is not poetry, not art,not even magic;it's pure, pure love! The kind of love/remembrance I experienced once when I read the story of Selma Karame in "alajnehe motekasere" (broken wings)by the great khalil jobran.Oriental philosophy of being. Also reminds me of our great Saadi Shirazi & his magical small poems in Persian.there is no difference in Pr,Ar,or Eng,YOU are marching on the way once passed by great men!I am PROUD to be your student in poetry!

I keep both there, from a woman I know Eileen. Your poem of gentle sorrow evokes thoughts of her. J.A.B.

Yes....some see the rose...others see the thorn! (Gibran Khalil Gibran). When the rose wilts due to neglect, all that remains is the thorn! Thanks for the visit.

Thanks...I'm usually very loquacious when I want to express myself verbally! To be succinct is something I have yet to master. Thank you, Dr Upma, for being gracious to me!
