Relishing Cake
Jerry was a naughty church mouse who lived in a pretty little church up the green hill,
He walked up and down the aisles looking for a new adventure
Up and down the pews,
But one Saturday morning he found a new wonder
A picture card moment frozen in time
At the edge of the table where fresh lilies clothed in delicate lace
Two white round cakes separated by a shimmering fountain
Gushing out clean water in spectacular dance
The floral decorated stairs ran up the circular cakes
Higher and higher,
On the steps was a group of well dressed men in sugary, shiny suites In their thin arms, were beautiful women with straight black hair and dressed in long red dresses.
On the second floor where two well dressed round-shaped cakes
Each one with red ribbon tightly running around their necks
On top of their heads, beautiful, ripe roses and ribbons on them that looked to good to eat!
And what is these? Another set of fancy stairs leading up to the top most layer, and oh! He had never seen such a couple surrounded by a floral halo.
Jerry looked at the magical moment under the dim light of the church,
He wished he could be a part of this moment
And not just admiring this relishing cake
Too good to eat!
