Every day I watch the news
and see more of my world
become less of what I know,
or thought it to be.
My heart aches as I see;
innocence die,
unprotected by any...
No one left to stand,
only those to kneel as if on command,
to an unseen force,
hiding in plain sight.
Prayers... to lift up America,
and her people.
Those that knew or thought they did,
right from wrong.
Prayers... that we may forgive each other,
and are ultimately forgiven...
for doing less,
when we should do more.
Prayers... to light the fires of the faithful,
to be strong,
as the storm continues...
into the day,
and further...
into the night.
