Red Wood and Steel

Claimed many a dear friend They never move in the end setting silently stronger than steel The Lord only know if they feel but they stand there lonely post with hanging circled limbs the road so close Did they know their bows shading the lane their comfort from the heat could cause so much pain in a moment a distraction maybe a bad reaction fatigue or a ride with friends No one knew the end The means does not always justify the action A few crosses some with flowers blowing in the wind my friend’s arms wrapped around the steel Beware my youth red wood can kill
