Red As a Sound
Loud horns are competing with out-of-sync clanging church bells.
There is a frantic feeling, anxiety mounting. Stress parades into my mind.
My hands are shaking; a buzzer never stops. I am eager to do something.
My body is trembling; there is nowhere to hide. Red has found me, with her trill.
I begin to wail and keen, wishing the sounds would dissipate but they never do.
