Receiving Your Sandy Effect
Each night placing my head on my pillow
preparing oneself to sleep and to slumber
so to rest right through till morning
if not count these sheep without number
Into the night sky thinking many thoughts
but into my sleep comes little seeds
these sandy effects so take over
bringing dreamy thoughts for my feed
But these sand tunes hum along
knowing they've got me like a hook
slowly steadily pouring themselves in
so I dream just like a magic book
All sorts of dreams I so imagine
when I awake, forgotten out of sight
what was it really all about?
don't know! just catch that next flight!
(Thinking about the effects of dreams and the effect of Sandman.
Sandman is a traditional character in many children's stories and books. In Scandinavian folklore, he is said to sprinkle sand or dust on or into the eyes of children at night to bring on sleep and dreams.)
