HEADNOTE:

Not entirely fiction? Is she a forerunner of the future?

Recently the Japanese unveiled a female Robot at an Expo which left visitors aghast and wondering if she was real. She smiled, waved to the crowd, spoke and made eye contact with coordinated eye movements.

Some Fembots even have temperature controlled fluids flowing through their ‘veins’.

It seems in the United States, anatomically correct and organic looking male-bots with bionic parts have now been invented.

Ladies do we have to come to this?

I hope I have done you PROUD with my internal rhyming my dear friend? I wish you a speedy recovery from your three bouts of flu. Modern technology comes up with great inventions, but in this case robotic females just cannot compete with the real thing (and that refers to both pros and cons)! Your poem brings awareness to the fact that materialistic things can be shiny on the outside, but lacking shine on the inside. Enjoyed your poem and the capable use of internal rhyme, Maria. Such a scary futuristic vision that haunts us today---yet shades of 1984 (the love-making between Winston and Julia) as well. Marvelous marvel of a write! Kudos! :-) Gershon

Wow, I can't imagine this being a good thing. But my goodness, you brought it, with this write. It is sad and scary to think of our technology coming to this.

Wow, Maria! This poem is a masterpiece! You really nailed it. A bit scary but still a wonderful piece of literature which I think should be one for the annuls. Your knowledge of the subject shows in the vocabulary and yet the emotional impact of such a life-changing invention shines through and leaves the reader either excited or aghast. Me: I'm aghast but awed.

Intelligent delivery of the emergence of robotics and transhumanism. One word, "Soulless". Scary world, scary times. I've been following Sophia, and had come across Sexbots, as one is want to do...watched a movie the other night titled, "The Beyond" interesting take on it all. Thought you might like it Maria. Maria: I'm trying to visualize the "in store display" of these creations. Think of the inventory necessary to meet everyone's choices. :o) The cheating mate could just trade you in for a "newer" model. :o) Thanks for sharing these thoughts with all of us on the soup. Keep them coming. oldbuck

This is wonderfully and brilliantly written, as well as very scary...the future is now as July Morning writes, and looking perfectly bleak. Thank you for shining light into this very dark corner!

Maria, this whole idea of AI is just a bit scary to me, I think perhaps some of our great scientific minds are headed in a dangerous direction. Maybe I'm just a bit old fashion but I would prefer the flesh of a woman to the artificial skin of a machine. All the best to you my friend! John

Thanks for your visit John to my 'tongue in cheek' poem. I am with you - the real thing is definitely preferable to the artificial. I guess I'm old fashioned too!... Maria

Reminds me of the 2 Blade Runner movies, in which the robots are so advanced they are exactly like humans, physically, intellectually, emotionally. I can't help wondering if anyone would still mind robotic company if there's simply no difference anymore. Anyway, fascinating topic, lovely rhymes, engaging read. Fantastic write, Maria! I really enjoyed it :)

This is a fascinating topic you drew our attention to, and I loved also reading the couplets that were written by WW. I heard that Stephen HAwkings is saying the AF's are going to bring down humans. Maybe she-bot is part of the plot!!

Ha Ha! that's not going to happen as long as us women can help it. After all they won't be able to match the naturalness of us women - besides women have the inbuilt natural 'smart chip' that will conquer all. But they can do my housework though. Thanks for your visit Andrea. Loved your comment. Maria xxx

Of course I'm blown away always... I'm pretty sure ^WW^ is very proud. And I pray for his speedy recovery cause I miss him too.. Sending hugs to both of yours :)

It was a fun write Susan, both WW and I really love that song, I think it was that more then anything that inspired this poem.A creepy situation isn't it the whole thing just creeps me out. Still its out there, appealing to a multitude of strange people. Each to their own I guess. Thank you my dear friend for popping by and your amazing comments, I always look forward to them....Maria xxx

Yes Anne-Lise, its got me scared, what is this world coming to? I think it would be the "creepiest thing" having a robot so lifelike in the house. I couldnt image anything more scary. Still it was fun writing this one. Thanks for the visit and support my friend.....Maria xxx

Yes indeed, what is this world coming to? Thanks for your visit Si, now did you say you wanted a brunette or a blonde? Baby blues or green eyes? Oh, one who does the housework? No sorry... that's not due for some years yet......Maria
Date: 1/8/2018 7:18:00 AM
...but will she cook my dearest, Maria or they have other robots for that? Hahaha ! I am horrified with the prospect for people would be more alienated and less human. Whatever the case your poem is a fantastic presentation of the future ! Wondrous writing! Call me old-fashioned my friend but I will stick to God's created woman! Haha!

Please stay old fashioned dearest Demetrios, or otherwise us women run the risk of becoming redundant. I believe they have been programmed to do housework too, Lol. On those conditions I shall allow one in. Thank you for the glowing review, most appreciated my friend....Maria

Thank you Vijay, that's one way of putting it, describing the poem as art, I am very flattered. I was wanting to depict something different here, both in context and poetic delivery. Thank you for noticing it.....Maria
