Rattlesnake

Body coiled and ready to strike, rattling tail betrays his trap. Hooded eyes stare through desert night, unsuspecting prey lingers. Sharp fangs pierce flesh mortal wounding, he feasts, then retreats alone. Written on 1/17/2015

G'day Laura... Nicely written Laura about a predator of the night. Perhaps you're luckier than us. Our snakes don't have rattles. Thanks again Laura - Lindsay

Yes, I do love by a canyon of rattlers here in San Diego. Don't like running into them as I do from time to time, but I'm glad they warn me with their rattlings!

Thanks for your comment, Rhonda. I was going to write about the coyote originally, but decided on the rattlesnake to challenge myself, knowing it might not be the creature of choice to write about!

Very nice, I agree with Richard, who would think a snake could be lonely..something to ponder. BG
