Rattlesnake

Body coiled and ready to strike,
         rattling tail betrays his trap.
                  Hooded eyes stare through desert night,
                          unsuspecting prey lingers.
                                 Sharp fangs pierce flesh mortal wounding,
                                                           he feasts, then retreats alone.
