Yet the sound of the pounding rain
Continues alongside the shining sun
Old wounds reopen causing pain
Perhaps not a day well done
I don't mind the rain as it plays
Its instrumental tunes
Wisdom told in a hundred ways
Warning of wasted afternoons
The pounding rain can't crush me
It can only wake me from my sleep
Remind me how I can be free
As slowly whispered messages seep
I see the rain, I hear the sound
Feel it on my skin, it brings me round
Reminds me of promises, to which I'm bound
The wonder of life still does astound
