Rainy Day Monday

Should somber skies sully a sunny day,
the pitter-patter of drops drags me down.
And especially if it's a Monday
when a smile often flips into a frown.
Stinging droplets act like a billion tears
flowing down my cheeks in constant dibble.
But on a Monday, they morph into spears
as depression and frustration quibble.
On dull cloudy days with little sunlight,
I'm not as melancholy should it rain.
Yet on sunny days, with few clouds in sight,
those raindrops turn into droplets of pain.
I'm not exactly sure why this should be,
but a rainy day, Monday, saddens me.
