Rain In the City

We walk in the middle of the alley Three unencumbered souls She glistens with fresh rain One of us is telling a story I am not hearing it, Only seeing the beauty in the building ahead Wall Street, stock exchange, She reminds me of the first time I was here It rained that day too Making the traffic lights seem fresh Darkening the streets Umbrellas came out I was immediately in love Knew this was the place for me So here I am, appreciating this beautiful alley Loving the feeling of having arrived Even better, conquering the imagination of the city Loving the rain Not paying any attention to anything Listening to her heartbeat As she inspires me to paint my truth

Hmmm... I always feel a bit apprehensive passing those alleys in the city...any city.

I like alleys; it is where the most playful are.
