Rain

A swollen river of tomorrow's tears; Cried forever lonely in night's darkest hours. Like life's oft' misinterpreted souvenirs; A rapture of the most glorious, mystical powers. Rain's a priceless treasure, inconsistent with the drought; A dangerous liaison in tropical climbs. To the delta a force for which to watch out; To the river it's source - it's heart and lifelines. Tears of the Heavens enveloping the lands; Rain is God's gift, like the air and the wind, Precious life's blood to the dry, desert sands; A mystery unsolved, like the yang and the yin. Halcyon days of summer bathed in the sun's heat; A pleasant, cool shower - making our day complete. An odorous essence like the breath of the gods; A petrichor finale, when the dry Earth, finally nods.
