Rain
day so full of glum and
gloom before the morning
starts
willful rain resists
to pause and gathers on
the drowning bosom of
solid ground
chattering silenced
birds unwilling to leave
their hidden nest
with striking
beauty flowers purr
their petals quiver
unable to turn away
open wide thirst to quench
earth is still on blissful
spring.
