Race Against Time

A race against time.

I can not enjoy my days.
They are not long enough, for the things I want to do.
I simply come and go.
Stay long, I can not.
Like a relationship that comes and goes.
My life has no stop.
Ending up in places no one knows.
Over the edge, over the top.

I look at the time .
It flies by fast.
Where has my day gone?
In the morning I am sipping on coffee.
Now I am in bed, my day is done.

Minutes pass me by quickly.
Not giving me time to breath.
One day I was 23 years old.
The next day I turned 35, asking where did all the time go?
I am not getting young.
When is this going to stop?
It all started when my life begun.
Will it end the day I drop.
Like the milk that spills from a cup.
A race against time
Should I just give up?
         I.T.

Hello Skat, my thanks for your welcome message, I came to take a peep at your post and this title caught my eye. I was hooked with that line about days not being long enough - so true! I think before we started the family days seemed long enough, but once we become slaves to the needs of children there are few days with any time to spare... :) Best wishes, Dave

Of course you don't give up!!! It's true that time flies, but in the meantime we have to make the most of it. When I was young time did not exist for me...now I keep wondering where it's gone to:)) I have learnt to appreciate every second and try to look at the bright side of life! Hugs // paul

Found this beauty today. I look back from my 61+ years and that poem resonates so deeply with me! A brilliantly crafted poem that surely expresses your disappointment in the very little time that is alloted us on this blue marble. A7 A pleasure to read!!!!

This is true, Skat. I Like the way you captured it. We must never give up, while still living, let us do all the best we can.

Hi, my dearest Skat! I'm so glad I've found this tremendously beautiful poem of yours. I love it so much. It portraits the truth of life. Time passes by swiftly & we can't stop it. For me, life is ephemeral, that's why i think i/we need to enjoy it amid its complexities. This is a very precious gem you've shared. TYTYSSM. Sending you biggest loveliest hugs, smiles & kisses to you & your family/loved ones. Blessed wkend! Pls. give my sweet regards to dearest sis Linda. TYSM as well for your warm congratulatory comments on my poems. More blessings! lovem4ever, Leo

SKAT This is so true. Time goes by way to fast and we can never get it back. So we should enjoy life with friends and family before it is gone. Thanks for the wonderful comment on my Two Little Poems write.

Good morning too, dear SKAT :) thanks for asking about my teardrops, so sweet of you to ask-- just me trying to see what it would feel like to be diagnosed with stage 4 cancer...I can definitely relate to this in more ways than 1--I think Time has got us all spinning & asking where it went--but no giving up, ok? have an enjoyable day, now :) --nikko :)
