Quiescent, by Suzette Richards – image generated 23 April 2023

Triadic-line poetry

William Carlos Williams tried to find an answer to the struggle of the open form/free verse which he felt lacked some element of structure. He introduced the ‘variable foot’, a metrical device to resolve the conflict between form and freedom of verse. The lines are syllabic but not uniform in metre, as they are more commonly defined as having a single arc (a phrase that encapsulates a core element) per line.

Zen is without symbolism and egotism. Not all haiku is Zen but all Zen is haiku. Zen is less awareness; without filter or screen; live in the present moment; quiescent in the calm of contentment.

Cool poetry and you're not afraid to experiment. I'm not much for eastern religion or philosophy but I can see the skill here
