Questions From Life
When all our days have been counted
and all our night dreams lived,
could we hope for anything more,
than to be loved?
If every bright star was a cherished gift,
would we gather them up, or
let them stay, for all to see?
If along the way,
we danced in the shadow of the moon,
would it be enough?
As visitors, time cannot be touched or sustained
rather we move through without notice,
drawing strength from one another,
without question or guilt,
would catching tears in our palms,
cause us to see its passing?
Would we not already have seen heaven,
before life's breath ends, to echo
in the chambers of our heart,
in the arms of those we love?
