Imagine myself.. a traveller from the ancient world of history -  world of Buddha, Hsuen Tsang and Fa Hien, land of Pyramids, and Great Wall... walking through ages.. in search for knowledge, spirituality, harmony.. crossing through meandering rivers and mighty oceans,  hills and dales of the universe, in quest of love, kindness and inner peace.  Probably many have imagined  the same way as I do... inspired by the chimes soaring above from the temples, standing on the seashore with sapphire waves rolling away,  meditating on serene snowy mountaintops, with chartreuse waterfalls descending on coral rocks.  History of human civilization.... A history of inquiry, enlightenment and attainment of peace. References: Hsuan Tsang - 7th century Chinese Buddhist monk, scholar, traveller Fa Hien - Chinese Buddhist monk who travelled on foot from China to India Buddha - Spiritual leader. The word itself means "enlightenment". FIRST PLACE September 27, 2021 For "Q" New Poetry Contest Sponsor: Constance La France For Strand - 1058 Poetry Contest Sponsor: Brian Strand

Wonderful allegorical write, Mala! Love the "quest" metaphor in your search for ultimate attainment of "peace" in a cavalcade of wisdom through time with each bit of wisdom built on the previous a-ha moments. Congratulations on your win! Love and hugs!

Very great write. Even though those who entered other territories had their vested interests, as you have mentioned, "inquiry, enlightenment and attainment of peace" have been the base of everything. Great Work! Congratulations!

Thanks, Christuraj. Love to believe - inquiry, enlightenment, peace - were the ultimate goal of those ancient travellers.

This is so inspiring dear Mala... yes we all are travellers... on a journey to seek love, peace... and above all... on a quest to seek our inner self... and those various moments in our lives are our varied experiences... that give us the wisdom of the Ultimate Truth of the Universe... An awesome apt write on the theme chosen dear friend... Hugs... ~ Ani

This is a wonderful historic walk Mala, one thing i have learnt in my long life, is the vast majority of this planet want everything you write in this poem, yet through the ages, as it is now, a hand full of individuals (despots) cause so much grief, with so much power in which to control and manipulate the way they want it to be. Love your poetry, Mala, so skilful and positive.

So true, Harry. Majority suffers because of those few. Really appreciate your thoughtful comment.
