Push Your Pen
sitting here
damn near a late night
because this sweet little voice
telling, urging, damn near commanding me
to push my pen
all because my special angel told me
"girl, that pen is your calling"
inside
the whole time
because i was scared
i knew what she meant
but yet i never flinched
just keep smiling, just keep smiling, just keep smiling
what do we do
we smile, smile, smile
got damnit! my smile is hurting
this has become painful beyond belief
sitting here
all because my special angel told me
i needed to push my pen
will I ever make it outta this clutch of a lions den
a sense
never common sense
masking a stingers aim
eyes gotta watch the vain
just another disgusted show of unforgiven pain
some type of not even braces could face
walk with me
just for a second
if you please
for i will show you where the true Queen Bees stay
just keep smiling, just keep smiling, just keep smiling
what do we do
we smile, smile, smile
recognize the royalties presence
she walks, head held high like nobody's business
she works for the loving
she works for the goodness
she serves on the daily
she loves her vibes
all the whole while
she shines
glory rays push her from behind
she is truly made by the devine
just keep smiling
smile, smile, smile
push your pen
