Take me in your arms and carry me home And tell me everything will be okay Don't talk of your love, I want to be shown Rescue me as I falter on my way Introduce me to a heart that will soar And tell me everything will be okay I cannot fight on my own anymore Let me lay down my woes and be carefree You are as rooted as a strong oak tree Fill my mind with loving and peaceful thoughts Let me never again feel sad and fraught With you I will be forever serene Take me in your arms and carry me home With you, I feel heard and forever known Don't talk of your love, I want to be shown Inklings Poetry Contest 8th April 2023 Sponsored by: Regina McIntosh

I told myself I was just writing a poem but when I read it again it's not far off really. Not actually the kind of stuff I tend to say but I know it's a feeling I'd sink right into.

Such a beautiful spiritual poem DD. Expressing the strength of God's love, in the form of a beautiful Prayer. Your poem is original, in fact unique, unlike any other I have read before. Bless you my friend. A favourite. A good contender for POTD. I sincerely hope it is recognised as such.

Wen, glad you like it and you are right - it does draw out some very spiritual elements.
