She wanders in the eventide mists Since the fates left us worlds apart Locked away immortal, deep within The safe round towers of my heart And should her ghost abandon me For the sake of befuddled schemes Well then, blessed was I to love her Through the marrow of my dreams. ~ 1st Place ~ in the "Brian's Select J, Any Form, Any Theme" Poetry Contest, Brian Strand, Judge & Sponsor. ~ 1st Place ~ in the "A Succinct Treat" Poetry Contest, Michelle Faulkner, Judge & Sponsor

Your kind of poem: deep, romantic, melancholy, ambiguous, a little dark. Well done. Congrats on the win, my friend.

Congratulations on your win in Brian's contest, Gregory. The style reminds me of the British Romantic period -- perhaps Lord Byron. Best wishes, Carolyn

Oh, what a sweet comment, Carolyn, and I'm so pleased you enjoyed this one! I enjoy using traditional and classic words and phrases, and mixing them with more modern concepts and forms ... I like to think it's creating a style, unique, but that may just be my child's wild imagination, lol. Many thanks and blessings, My Friend! :-) <3
