Primordial Soup an Elemental Enigma

Come, my dear friend, as I invite you on a journey to reflect on your own place within this complex web of humanity, pondering the essence of life, identity, and the possibility of a higher design.

Blessings,
Daniel Henry Rodgers

-------------------------------

Everyone is a blended mixture of Elementals made up of Oxygen, carbon, Hydrogen, nitrogen, Calcium, phosphorus, and… Trace elements A divine recipe, perhaps? Some are yet to be born Some are young, Some are old. Some are people of color, Some are people who lack color. Some speak one language Some speak many tongues. Some are social Some are antisocial. Some are healthy Some are sick. But what am I? Some are poor Some are middle-class Some are rich. Some believe in God Some sense a higher design Some aren’t sure Some are atheists. Some are extroverts Some are introverts. Who am I? Some live on farms Some live in suburban communities Some live in towns and cities. Some live off the grid Some are liberal Some are moderate Some are conservative. How shall I live? Some are loving Some are joy-filled Some are hate-filled. Some want peace Some want a cause Some want war. Some want to destroy Some want to mend Some want to kill Some want to heal. Should I matter? Should I not? What are my choices? Everybody dies… But do I truly live? In this vast simplexity of humanity Or am I more than the sum of the parts? Or am I just a glitch of stardust Or a spark of the divine? Momentarily aware Yet, unaware Forever in BlueJeans… Forever questioning?

I agree with you Daniel. It seems like we should and must keep answering questions. I don't know who said it, but I had a friend with a poster on her wall that said, "fish gotta swim, bird gotta fly, man gotta wonder why, why, why"

A great, thoughtful poem with lots of good questions. Sometimes, I find these questions overwhelming, answers blowing in the wind.

Hello David, You are so right that the answers are Blowing in the Wind and may never be known, at least to its fullest. I love asking questions and seeking understanding which is my philosophical/psychological thinking. Thank You for your comments. Blessings, My Friend, Daniel

Hello Joe, Thank you so much for your visit and comments. I am always appreciative of your thoughts. Have a great week and be blessed my friend, Daniel

Daniel: I notice throughout your list have the opposites under one another. I think of the Golden Rule, "Do unto others." Do those who murder, steal and lie, wish to be killed, stolen from, and lied to themselves. Another thing - our expectations of others and the disappointments we feel- when not met. Baby's got her blue jeans on. LOL Think of how different every one looks in their blue jeans even as universal a look they are. Thanks for an interesting thought provoking poem and discussion SuZ

Dear SuZ, I do not know how I missed your wonderful thoughts and apologize. I go back from time to time to see who I have missed. Like you I do believe in the Golden Rul and wish to bless everyone that I meet. I am so appreciative of your comments. Have a great week! - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Man is so complex.... a mixture of homogenous and heterogenous elements. In the types listed below, to which category do we belong, what is our type, what characteristic tenets do we share.....these are the questions posed. We do not exactly know to which group we belong or give a definite answer as to what our dominant traits are. I feel that your intention is to allow and invite the readers into a sincere introspection. Very thought provoking, dear Daniel.

Dear Valsa, You are one of my favorite deep thinkers, and that brings me joy. Yes, we are an amalgamation of many things that form who we are, yet we are still made up of the basic chemicals that are in each of us. We are inclusive and exclusive in the same breath, which defines us. As a counselor, I learned how to ask questions that encourages us to explore our world and not just life pass by. Thank You Agan! - Blessings, My Dar Friend, Daniel

I felt that your poem suggests that while humans are made of the same basic elements, the diversity in experiences, beliefs, and conditions leads to a rich tapestry of existence. The recurring questions about identity, purpose, and living versus existing encourage readers to reflect on their own lives and the broader human condition. You always write thought provoking poetry

Dear Silent One, What a great visit, and I am thankful for you! Although I am a strong believer and advocate for God, I live my life trying to learn and question areas I do not understand, which leads me back to learning. Thank You! - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Forever in BlueJeans....hmmmm. Interesting line. Yes... we're all different. That's why in this large community we click with certain pets because their poetry resonates with us. It's take every kind. Great introspective write.

Dear Eileen, I am grateful and thankful to see your kind comments. The Forever in Blue Jeans is an existential thought that we live our lives full of what we can sense. For me, I know that I seek a higher power outside of my senses but get caught up in the tangibles. - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Daniel, your lines truly and most eloquently express the human enigma! For me, I am at peace as I simply realize that I can't know but hopefully someday will and try to live a basic good life! An excellent poem!!

Hello Mike, thank you and I agree that we should find purpose and live a life worth living, which means being at peace. I think one day we will have the answers, whether on this side of death or on the other side. Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Some search for answers Daniel, and because none are clear cut don’t (can’t) put all their eggs into one basket, I’m in that forever questioning category, and possibly felt like I was in every other category you mention at certain points of my life, sentient stardust today, but that could change tomorrow, thought provoking all round, cheers David

Hello David, I so appreciate your visit, and your comments do make very valid points that, at different times in our lives, we may be in different categories. I grew up on a farm and lived in cities, towns, suburbia, and off the grid. The key is always to be a forever learner, no matter the circumstances. Thank You! - Blessings, My Friend, Daniel

Daniel..this is a superb creation. Life is not a smooth ride at times, but we learn to deal with adversity, it makes us grow, And we are the better for it. Strong souls are not flakes. Plus having mentors and being surrounded by loving peopleis the best. And a belief in God is key. Pangie xxx

The key part of the poem to me is: Everybody dies/But do I truly live? You give me so much to contemplate. And with all that you list, I feel a deep sense of humanity.

Hello Mike, Thank you for your visit. The world seems to never change whether it is good, bad, or neutral, when it comes to who we are and how we are affected by diversity, personality, and culture. As you restated very well, "But do I truly live?" I learned something from a psychology professor once. "Am I living a life worth living!" - Blessings, My Friend, Daniel

I enjoyed this one. I sure hope none of us here want to kill. It's plain to see you are a deep thinker. Maybe 7 is one of your numerology numbers!

Dear Andrea, Your words gave me a wonderful smile this morning, and I appreciate it greatly. Yes, the hope that no one has killing on their mind. Unfortunately, we live in a world where, for some, it is a way of life. I hope as poets that we seed sparks of peace and understanding. - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Many are all of these things. Our nature is what makes us unique, I think. We all have it, ego, key is like you penned gracefully; honesty, kindness, respect, this is the path to love. "Or am I just a glitch of stardust Or a spark of the divine?" I love this line. We are sparks and there are sparks of us as well. I read that the real nature or essence of this world is divinity alone, if we bring the light of spiritual wisdom. Your work is brilliant today as always dear poet. xhugs~Anaya

Dear Hilda, thank you for your comments and to go right along with your comments, I have always loved the serenity prayer. "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." Blessings, my Friend, Daniel

Daniel, anything that explores the meaning of life seems fascinating to me. We are blessed with so many choices. I am thinking this type of discussion opens up some very important considerations we have and I am smiling at the thought. Turns out philosophy is much more important than many people realize!

Hello Duke, You are one of my favorite commenters, and I thank you for that. I fell in love with philosophy about 45 years ago in my first college class on the subject. I found a new, deeper love in the mid-1990s with a philosophy professor who opened up channels in my brain that I had never contemplated. Philosophy brings forth the power of questions, ethics, logic, metaphysics, aesthetics, and epistemology. All were game changers for me. Thanks again, Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

And you bring us to the final two verses. The questions cause us to ponder. Most already have their minds made up, following the thought to its conclusion, surely perplexed when they “wake up.” Hugs ~ Kim

Dear Kim, I appreciate your thoughts! You are so right that many have made up their minds instead of looking to see how we might change for the better. I am required to take a multi-culturalism course every year and I have learned so much in the last 17 years that has helped me grow and understand God's world a little better each day. - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Sometimes we do have to check out our faith or Satan causes us to doubt. I always come back to saying there is no other way but through Jesus Christ, my Savior. What a lovely name, what a wonderful name is Jesus. Sara K

Dear Sara, I am always thankful for your comments! I have always had so many questions about life that I want to ask our Lord about. I fell in love with Christian Apologetics and love seeking out answers to my questions. This is one of my life verses. "But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." F- Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

We are as ants, scurrying as if we are the center of everything important. Our nature is to turn "Simplexity" into complexity. How vain are we humans? Narcissistic enough to pretend we are divine. No blend of us will ever perfect whether we are dark roast or caffein free. Daniel, your poetry always inspires thought.

Dear Lin, I love your deep thoughts, and yes, we are a mixture of our world. We are made up of life and nonlife of all kinds, and once we learn to respect and give dignity to others, we will always believe that our internal world is the only reality. Thank you for your words of wisdom. - Blessings, My Friend, Daniel

A very introspective write this is dear daniel, as always your empathy and ability to grasp the energy of different individuals and appreciate and accept their differences in beliefs background religious views etc can be felt through your write so well articulated. I especially love the lines “Or am I just a glitch of stardust Or a spark of the divine?” Sometimes i wonder this too, what am i who am i? In this vast world of complexities, to find that inner light and purpose is necessary but most of all acceptance, tolerance and kindness is necessary. A very thoughtful and soulfully meaningful poem this is. Even on poetry platforms, it is much needed. To understand and celebrate diversity of humankind. A fave for the thoughtfulness and sincerity of speech, pleasure always reading your work, sending you light dear daniel.
